anniversary date night

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know this past Saturday was my wedding anniversary. Depending on who you ask, we celebrated either 2 (me) or 1 (my husband).

I know…that makes no sense. Long story short, we were in the process of planning our wedding when we realized I was going to be a SAHM in a few months. (Yes, we did things out of order but when you’re in your mid-thirties, who cares.) I was in need of medical insurance once I left my job so a trip to the courthouse was the solution. We already had our wedding date set so we made it legal in 2013 and almost exactly a year later, we “got weddinged” in 2014.

One of the many wonderful things about still having our reception a year later is that all of our friends and family witnessed my oldest son walk me down the aisle and saw our little foursome become a blended family.

To celebrate this year, we went to dinner at Gibsons, lost just a little bit of money at the casino, and stayed overnight at a hotel. (Huge thank you to my in-laws for watching the kids!) It was seriously like a mini-vacation and I even slept in until almost 8am!

We had such a great date night and I can’t wait to spend more anniversaries with my best friend. ❤️
